An exhibition of contemporary portraiture and art featuring the human figure!
Oxford Street Art is located in the iconic tin palace building in the historic township of Lyttelton.
The gallery showcases local and regional artists established and emerging in an informal and friendly setting. As well as exhibitions future events will include talks and workshops and private viewings for schools and special interest groups.
"Simulacrum" The exhibition runs from 6th May until 26 June. Our opening night party is on the 6 May and as usual it will be a fun filled evening with champagne cocktails and snacks. We are privileged to welcome Ben Brown, the Lyttelton author and poet who will read some of his work on the opening night. Many of the exhibiting artists will be attending the opening night event.
Our next exhibition ‘Simulacrum’ is an exhibition of contemporary portraiture and art featuring the human figure. Some accomplished artists have submitted work to this exhibition. We are pleased to have received works from Lyttelton based artists Meredith Marsone, Stephanie Crisp and Judith Neill and the well-known Sumner based artist Kees Bruin. The works from Thomas Hancock and Andrew Swarbrick are astounding.
